VVIP Ecological Pond, Taipei Municipal Junior High School

Fish swim gracefully in the clean, crystal-clear pond—delightful to watch and inviting to approach. Taipei Municipal Xinyi Junior High School built this ecological pond on campus to restore native aquatic plants and fish species, providing both a living classroom for students and a contribution to preserving Taiwan’s natural biodiversity. Thanks to the support from various partners—native plants from the Taipei School Environmental Education Center and native fish species from the Taiwan Native Fish Conservation Association—we planted Nuphar shimadae Hayata (Taiwan spatterdock), Trapa natans (water chestnut), and other native aquatic plants, while releasing ricefish, paradise fish, high-bodied bitterlings, and freshwater mussels. To maintain water quality, we also installed a UV sterilization lamp.



Why is it called the VVIP Ecological Pond?We sincerely thank Vice President Tsai of NOVATICS for donating the pond’s UV sterilization lamp. This lamp is truly remarkable—it features an eco-friendly, energy-saving UV-LED design and a patented quartz optical system recognized in both Taiwan and the United States. It achieves drinking-water-level sterilization quality! The system effectively solved the green-water issue, suppressed algae growth, and prevented eutrophication. With the water now clear and transparent, the fish finally reappeared in their full beauty, drawing joyful exclamations from students: “Wow! So many fish!” and “This one is so beautiful!”In addition, its sterilization function eliminates bacteria in the water, creating a healthy environment for the fish and significantly reducing any unpleasant odor. The result is a clean, beautiful, and lively pond—a place where students and teachers alike enjoy observing and connecting with nature.
The NOVATICS WS module features an innovative UV-C LED combined with a patented quartz optical design, effectively enhancing water purification efficiency while maintaining excellent energy-saving performance. The treated water retains its original taste without producing ozone or heat, ensuring purity and safety. The module’s mercury-free structure significantly reduces environmental impact upon disposal. The system achieves a 99.9% sterilization rate, making the water safe for direct drinking and compliant with multiple international drinking water safety standards. With its modular design, NOVATICS WS can be flexibly expanded according to flow rate requirements, making it suitable for a wide range of environments and industries, including residential, commercial spaces, healthcare, laboratories, food processing, swimming pools, aquaculture, aquariums, and wastewater treatment applications.
